7 Column Like You See ‘Em
>> Monday, March 8, 2010
With such a beautiful Sunday in our midst, I had to break the chains from painting this guy…
…and head outside for some fresh air and a hearty dose of 60 degree sunshine.
Luckily there were plenty of outdoor chores to choose from. My project of choice? Caulking the front columns.
One of our very first items on the never ending to-do list was to kick up our curb appeal a bit by replacing the the old rot iron with lovely new square columns.
The columns are a definite improvement but when you get up close and personal, they were still in need of a little TLC.
Nothing a little caulking can’t handle, with a quick swipe of the caulk gun across the eye sore…
…and another once over to smooth everything out, we were in business!
Another glimpse…
How did you spend your beautiful Sunday? Home chores? Fun with friends & family?

I was outside as much as possible. Sunday night was so lovely!
We dusted off our grill and cooked burgers last night.
It was so nice to take a break from our stuffy kitchen and get outside for good food and fresh air.
Love the columns BTW!
Alex, we were the same way. It was just too nice to stay in. Bring it on, spring!
McKenzie, I know the feeling. We cooked out last night too and we were in heaven. Thanks for the compliment on the columns! Lots more to do to the front of the house, but atleast we're heading in the right direction.

Columns look good! It is a good idea to caulk cracks for two reasons.
1. Makes them look finished
2. Keeps water from dripping into the cracks

Good point, Leah! We are definitely not in the market for wood rot.

Cara, Love the columns...they look fabulous! They really make the front of your house "pop".
And I think you already have an idea of what I did on Sunday. ;)
Besides the poo incident...we got to take the dogs on a walk and enjoy the weather. I love spring!
Thanks, Carrie! Oh boy, I feel so sorry for the, um, "messy" business you were up to. Fingers crossed that you are in the clear from here on out!
