Read more...Let’s stop by the pink bath for the latest DIY. I keep a ceramic platter on the counter to hold any number of lotions & potions—which also makes for easy cleanup since I all have to do to scrub down the counter is scoot the tray out of the way for a quick swipe. Fabulous!—but I’m slightly less enthused by the soap dispenser holding down the fort.
A rusty bottom means that I’m constantly cleaning up rust rings, making my theory of easy bathroom cleaning all the more complicated. Time to ditch the rusty bitch.
There has been a mason jar buried in the back of my kitchen cabinet for months begging to be DIYed.
I’ve tackled a mason-jar-turned-soap-dispenser rehab in the past, so I knew this would be an easy job for my Milwaukee drill bit set to knock out of the park. Best Christmas present ever (a big hug and high five to my brother for placing this bad boy under the tree last year). I use this DIY army in nearly every project I tackle.
The width of the soap pump looked to be a little bigger than 5/8 inch, but very close. In this case, it is better to drill too small and go back with a larger bit if needed.
With a little wiggling, pushing and cursing (every good DIY needs four lettered friend), the pump fit snuggly in the newly drilled hole…
A new rust free soap dispenser that literally took 5 minutes to whip into shape. Full of charm and a future free of rust rings.

…and this DIY was one of my most favorite projects—I also like to think it makes my mailman’s day to frequent such a lovely stop—so I’m pumped to take on another letter loving flip.

Holy blog post. This is going to be a long one. With so much fun crammed into a ten hour time span there is no way I could keep a recap post on my recent visit to P. Allen Smith’s Moss Mountain Farm on the short side of life. Not possible, so let’s dive right in shall we?
A couple of months ago when I received an invite to the inaugural Bean2Blog event at P. Allen’s crib, I was pumped for three reasons:
1. Hello?! It’s P. Allen and a trip to his wonderland of flowers and folly could not be passed up.
2. An event sponsored by Arkansas soybean farmers, I was excited to learn more about the little beans that have become a super important staple for our state…turns out, soy is in everything!
3. A chance to meet other Arkansas bloggers in person that I’ve been stalking over the years would truly be a treat. Game on!
First and foremost, the main house is a serious stunner. We kicked off our day with a tour of P. Allen’s house and boy were our cameras just-a-clickin’. Here’s a little peek at our super snooping.

P. Allen calls this little octagonal building his “martini house” since that is usually what they are dishing up in this space. Simple table topped off with a completely rustic wooden chandelier with holes cut out to hold mason jars filled with candles…
There are also dozens of mini shelves designed solely to hold handles. Can’t you just imagine how amazing it would be to have dinner in a candle filled nook on Moss Mountain Farm? Ugh. So jealous.
