15 May Day Giveaway!

>> Friday, May 1, 2009

Happy May Day everyone! In honor of this (ummmmm, holiday?), we are kicking off our first giveaway! One lucky winner will receive all three fabulous books featured below. To register, just leave a comment at the bottom of this post describing your favorite thing about your home. A winner will be randomly selected from the comments. You have until Sunday, May 3 at 5:00 p.m. (CDT) to register.

In the coffee table book, The American Townhouse, we are taken on a tour of stunning townhouses and rowhouses from Boston to Brooklyn, St. Louis to San Francisco. Radek Kurzaj's striking photographs complement a fascinating text by nationally recognized historic-house expert Kevin Murphy. Featured are some of the country's finest townhouses, including the famed Nathaniel Russell House in Charleston; Teddy Roosevelt's New York birth house; the Payne and Helen Hay Whitney House in New York; and the Glenn and Ida Moore House in Rancho Santa Fe.

Filled with gorgeous photographs, styling how-to's and tips, and lots of inspiration, Everyday Styling helps readers on any budget wake up their homes and gardens while putting their unique thumbprint on everything they do. Whether you're entertaining friends, hankering for a new perspective on that same old bedroom, or just hoping to perk up your patio with colorful plants, Susie Coelho's Everyday Styling shows how easy it is to keep you home and garden looking and feeling fresh and alive every day.

Finally, after all that reading, you're going to be hungry, so we are throwing in the Food Network Kitchens: Get Grilling cookbook to help you move the party outdoors!

Don't forget! You only have until Sunday, May 3 at 5:00 p.m. (CDT) to register. The winner will be announced in Monday's post. Happy living!

My kitchen is my favorite room of my house. I love to cook and it always ends up being the gathering point for company and family.

I love the wall color in my bathroom. It took me months to find. But I finally picked out the perfect shade of yellow!

I love that our home is old (1930's) but there is not one floor board that squeaks. It has all of the old home charm with new home feel. And the fact that it is always changing, who knows what project will be next. :)

I love my breakfast nook...even though we've never eaten breakfast there! It is a great place to sit and chat with Oliver while he cooks :)
It is just a cozy spot with sunny yellow walls and fabulous sunflower curtains!

I love the view from my patio doors. It's bird feeders with fields and trees in the background.
Thanks!

I love that our home has the colors and feelings that we enjoy. That it is a place of happiness and the sharing of that joy. sharonaquilino(at)hotmail(dot)com

I love my home because it is unique. It is in an older neighborhood on one of the best streets in our city. Can I also mention that we have a wonderful large back yard.

My favorite thing about my home is all the woodwork - my home was built in 1920 and in all those years, no one painted the woodwork! asthenight at gmail dot com

I think I just squeaked in! I think the favorite thing about my home is that I have transformed it over the last year from a really outdated 60s look to something that feels almost all mine now from stem to stern!
