0 Neck of the Woods: Stifft’s Station
>> Thursday, July 16, 2009
Stifft's Station makes up the western part of the Capitol View/Stifft's Station neighborhood.
The neighborhood remains one of mixed use, though primarily residential in character, and includes a commercial band along Markham. Here you can find the Station grocery store, the Oyster Bar and Pizza D’Action.
The name, Stifft's Station, was derived from the active participation of prominent local businessman and civic booster, Charles Stifft, in the growth of this portion of Little Rock’s streetcar suburbs.
The Stifft’s Station Historic District offers reasonable real estate prices with the majority of the homes built in Craftsman, Craftsman Bungalow, and Bungalow styles with modest Tudor or Colonial Revival detailing.
Stifft’s Station is also where home buyer, Justin Parkey, purchased his house with Eric’s help in TLC’s My First Home. Click here to watch the entire episode!
