When Mary, the winner of At Home in Arkansas magazine’s recent virtual room & furniture makeover giveaway (by yours truly), emailed me the photos of her living room, I was pumped to get busy crafting a game plan for Mary’s space. With large walls and tall ceilings, I just knew this living room could be whipped into shape in no time.

Cara, I am a 50 year old woman and my parents are helping me raise my 13 year old son in Maumelle. We live with them and we have some major decorative and many obstacles. Ex: arched ceiling with beams, weird sized walls and my moms fear of going beyond her 80s themed furniture and decorative pictures. We have absolutely no idea what to do. We would benefit greatly from your room makeover because we are at an impasse as to how to handle this space.
