2 Porch Pizazz

A couple of extraordinary bloggers that I enjoy following, This Young House and Making It Lovely, were recently involved in the Better Homes & Gardens 48 Hour Challenge. The five participating bloggers were given $500 to spend at Home Depot to transform one area of their home. Both This Young House and Making It Lovely opted to spruce up their front porches. They did an amazing job and provided much inspiration to the budget conscious. Both front porch designs included one idea that I love: a painted porch.
Making It Lovely's faux area rug adds a splash of color to their Chicago bungalow...

Well done fellow porch appreciators. Well done!
A note from the Realtors:
While freshening up your porch with a new coat of paint is an inexpensive way to rejuvenate a tired space, it is a good idea to stick to neutral colors if you plan on selling your house in the near future. Neutral colors tend to appeal to a larger buyer pool while personalized colors may be off putting to some. However, if you plan on staying put for a while, grab a paint brush and get creative. This a great way to express your personal style.

If this is a duplicate post, I apologize! I love that pretty green painted floor with the white leaves. What a refreshing new idea. I just love porches and that gives me some new ideas to consider. The classic two-toned painted floor is also really nice. Thanks much for sharing this.
Hi Mary,
I'm glad you liked it! With such beautiful weather in store for us, we'll be digging up plenty more ideas for front porches. Stay tuned!
