That’s it. I’ve had enough. I have to recreate this fabulous rehab of a light fixture brought to us by Vintage Revivals. I’ve been drooling over it all week and enough is enough. My weekend mission is set.
That’s it. I’ve had enough. I have to recreate this fabulous rehab of a light fixture brought to us by Vintage Revivals. I’ve been drooling over it all week and enough is enough. My weekend mission is set.
An audible “Uggggghhhhh!” escaped from my body several times upon viewing this bedroom before and after from Vintage Revivals. Seething with envy.
The before…
…and the afters. Prepare yourself for anger that this room is not in your house…BUT the good news is every project is totally re-creatable!
If you haven’t already left this shambles of a blog for more info over at Vintage Revivals, I love you to pieces, but you’re certifiably crazy.
I’m addicted to many things in life. Creaky houses, dilapidated furniture, schnauzer/terrier mixes, mac & cheese…and the list goes on and on to include one summertime indulgence in particular: Big Brother. If your corneas aren’t permanently attached to your TV screen three nights a week like mine are, you most likely have a considerably higher IQ than I. But should you have a similar craving for a handful of attention seeking 22-38 year olds stuck in the same house ripping each other limb from limb for their share of half a million, than you too can appreciate this post…and the plethora of adorable ceramic owls that made their appearance in the HOH (Head of Household, for you BB newbies) room last night.
They were everywhere! On the dresser, in the fish tank…
My apologies for the poor image resolution. Of course I pirated the images from the CBS website. Would you expect any less of me?…(CBS due credit here)
Gotta love a ceramic owl. Let’s take a look at where we can snag a few of our own nocturnal nuggets…
| West Elm: $9.00 - $16.00 | At West End: $36.00 |
| Etsy: $45.00 | Z Gallerie: $19.95 |
It’s that time again! Time for the latest Before & After with Cara Wilkerson on At Home in Arkansas magazine’s fabulous blog…
| It’s a happy day when one of our favorite gals, Cara Wilkerson of Live the Home Life, joins us with a before & after. Did you see the magic she worked on this dresser? What about this painted burlap ottoman? And if that’s not enough, scroll below for her latest masterpiece! Thanks, Cara! By the way, we’ve been loving your blog lately. |
Goodness! Those At Home gals sure do know how to make a girl blush. Click here to head on over to their blog and check out the full story on the before & after coat rack below…
Whew! It’s hot out there. I opted to spend my lunch break indoors with a paintbrush in my hand finishing up my latest furniture rehab for At Home in Arkansas’ Before & After with Cara Wilkerson…want to catch a peek at July’s project? Ok, but just a quick glimpse. The real deal will be on At Home’s blog shortly.
Lately, I've had a serious crap craving—pardon my French, friends, but it’s the truth. And not just any crap. Gloriously dated crap in the form of rusty, creaky mailboxes.
Last year I rehabbed the mailbox on my very own front porch…
…and had so much fun with it that I snatched up another rusty $5.00 mailbox at a junk store and recreated the original rehab for auction at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore & After fundraiser last fall…
…but now the itch has returned and it needs to be scratched. I need more mailboxes. Not to keep personally—I don’t receive that much mail. My future rehabbed mailboxes will most definitely be donated to this year’s Habitat for Humanity fundraiser.
I’ve scoured thrift stores. Perused yard sales. On my morning walks, I’ve scouted every neighbor still sporting their terribly dated 1960s mailboxes, but unfortunately I was raised with morals and stealing just isn’t an option…sigh…but I refuse to give up on feeding this addiction. Help me out won’t you? If you catch wind of a thirty-plus year old mailbox in need of a little love, call/text/facebook/email/tweet me up! Gosh golly, you guys are the best.
Happy July, y’all!
Thanks a million to all of my unbelievable buddies who’ve linked to Live the Home Life. Do yourself a favor while your watching the minutes tick by until you can hit the lake and cruise on over to these wonderful sites…

If you’ve given LTHL a little love lately and don’t see your name on the list, for goodness sakes, click here to email me and let me thank you properly. You deserve it!
And as an extra means of Friday workday procrastination, if you missed this performance on So You Think You Can Dance last night, you really must watch. I spent most of the three minute routine yelling “Shut up! No way!” at my TV…
Have a great Fourth of July weekend, pals!
