3 Before Story: Coat Rack

Oh dear. I won’t go into too much detail with this one. Let’s just say that my obsessive hoarding of all things junkie won again…but this one was worth it. Mainly because this coat rack was:

A. Free off of the side of the road
B. A challenge to fit in the Prius…can be done but fairly positive it requires breaking a safe driving law or two in the process.

C. And…wait, I already went over the whole “free” part

This bird watching hobby of mine is steadily becoming an all consuming obsession…

True confession: I’m seriously considering setting up a video camera in the event these little guys decide to fly the nest while I’m out showing property…and by “seriously considering”, I most definitely mean I’m already planning how to best rig my flip video camera on my front porch.

No worries. I’m fairly positive the mailman already thinks I’m certifiably insane.

It’s definitely a true story that nothing excites me quite like when before & after photos pop up in my inbox from those of you gracious enough to suffer through my blog ramblings, but when Caio & Sarah sent their progress pics from the weekend, I went into a full out frenzy.

Why all the fuss? Let’s dig right into it.

Welcome to Caio & Sarah’s backyard. Super cute garden right? Just wait. These new homeowners (with a smidge of help from their family) had bigger plans in store for their weekend…

This couple’s backyard was prepped and ready for their very own soon-to-be veggie garden! Now that’s what I call a productive Saturday.

3 I’ve Got a Bird Bone to Pick

Flash back to Wednesday when I discovered a bird nest happily tucked away in my holiday wreath that should have been packed away months ago. Such a happy find! Dare I say the highlight of my week? Quite possibly.

Until, I found out Momma Bird was a scoundrel. I’ll explain.

I conveniently have the perfect bird watching setup. A storm door allows me to snoop extra close without getting in my little friends’ way. I even caught a sneak peek when they were hatching…complete with video.

Note to the viewer: This could quite possibly be the most boring video to anyone other than its creator. You were warned…and please pay no mind to Bravo’s Real Housewives of OC & June’s whining in the background. The soundtrack of my life.

Now, let’s get to why I have a serious bone to pick with Momma Bird.

From this window here, I noticed MB flying the nest to hang out in this bush…

…to canoodle with a boy! I would like to assume that this is Poppa Bird, but I really can’t be sure. Even worse, MB has knocked two of her freshly hatched nuggets from the nest when she takes off for her front yard rendezvous. Scandalous AND neglectful.

After much Googling and my very best attempts at saving my loves, we’ve had two little ones fly to the birdie heaven in the sky…but on the way they ended up on my front porch doormat.

I’m fuming.
