Martin Luther King Elementary School was built in 1993 and the philosophy and expectations of the school are based on Dr. King's principles of life.

Located in the heart of downtown Little Rock, across from Arkansas Children’s Hospital, a variety of specialty classes are offered to provide students with a well-rounded curriculum.

The school also recently adopted the city park adjacent to its playground.

The Fair Park Early Childhood Center  provides a high-quality preschool program at no cost to parents.

Built in 1928, with the main part of the building constructed during 1937 and 1938, Fair Park was originally known as the "Lincoln School."  A tradition over seventy years in the making,



Fair Park boasts of educating several generations of families and now covers an entire city block in the historic Hillcrest neighborhood. Fair Park converted to an Early Childhood Center, the only one of its kind in the state, for the 2005-06 school year and serves as a model facility for pre-kindergarten children.

Little Rock Central High is a school rich in history, academic excellence and diversity.  The structure, built in 1927, has been added to the National Register of Historic Places and is also designated by the National Park Service as a National Historic Landmark.  

In the fall of 2007, two historic anniversaries were observed: the 50th anniversary of "The Central High Crisis of 1957," when the school was desegregated, and the 80th anniversary of the structure itself. These events also coincided with the opening of the new Central High Museum and Visitors' Center at the corner of Daisy Bates Avenue and Park Street.

Jefferson Elementary is a fantastic school--I may be a bit biased, as it is my alma mater--located in the cozy community setting of Cammack Village.

Teachers at Jefferson have received numerous awards for excellence including: the Little Rock Teacher of the Year, Arkansas New Teacher of the Year, and Arkansas Counselor of the Year award. Even more impressive, 67% of the staff have Master's Degrees with an average of 16 years teaching experience.
